I never understood why some cultures regard corn silk as sacred (for both it's healing properties as well as it's beauty) until I saw this ...
I am not the only one who appreciates corn though...
This is what most of our corn looks like after all some incredibly beautiful King Parrots had a feast. Totally enjoyed it all (perhaps they had a late New Year's Party in the corn?).
At least I was able to appreciate the silk - isn't it beautiful...
Did the birds truly eat ALL your corn? Not fair! The silk is beautiful, though!

ok ok ok ok you HAVE to read The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollen. He talks on and on about corn and how amazing it is. You need to get this book! It will blow you away. He talks about the "corn silks"..and a bunch of other things.

Thanks for the tip - I'll find the book (I always love a good read) and yep, they ate almost ALL of the corn (there was one cob found hidden amongst the cucumbers which was about the length of my palm with maybe 30 kernels on it - we cut it up and enjoyed finding the "treasures" in our salad - it was nice) - xx
